In at least one paragraph, write an introduction of yourself as you would like to be known to someone who has never met you. Be honest, but also be creative in your presentation. An example of a plain introduction: Something a little more creative:Notice how the second version gives a better impression of voice. And from little extra pieces of information, one gets a sense for John's community. Here, too, John is able to emphasize the idea that everyone in the community seems to know he plays basketball; the nickname Hoops is a consequence of his actions rather than an affectionate or family nickname given at birth. In short, the second version is more concrete, offering more to the imagination, so it is more likely to hold a reader's interest and give a truer picture of the person. Note: Only reveal your first name and/or nickname. And do not reveal any details that you do not want displayed in public.

When others ask me, "What do you do?" they mean to ask about what I get paid to do. It is a superficial question, but an appropriate one in most cases, and certainly easier to answer than Who are you? Yet I would rather have this second, harder question. I never like the way my answers come off when others ask me what I do.
Of course, I say, "I'm a schoolteacher." Then, a set of standard questions follows: "Where?" "What level?" "What subject?" And after I have said, "Gentry," "Juniors," and "English," my interrogators usually assume that they have learned all there is to know. The conversation often ends when they either congratulate me for the hard work they assume I do or console me for the difficulties they assume I face. I always come away suspecting that the picture they have of me is not accurate at all.
And if I were summed up by my job, then I would be in a bad state. It seems I fail at 80% of the things I do at school. If I am in life what I do for a living, on any given day I might come home from work and suppose that I should just stop. Stop trying, stop working, stop living. But thankfully I do not take myself to be a schoolteacher only. Of this I am convinced: we are more than what we do.

My name is Antonio Minton and I attend Gentry High school as a junior. I also run track for Gentry Rams and hope to go to state again to represent Gentry. After taking AP English I hope to have learn how to develop my own ideas when I am reading and to think and express my ideas clearly. AP English will be the main class I will challenge myself because it is on a college level. I think AP English will prepare me for college and I have no doubt that it will be one of the important classes that I will have ever taken in high school.

My name is Jermeshea Gatlin and I am a junior at Gentry High School. Singing in the choir and cheering on the cheer squad are just two of the many activities I participate in at Gentry. When I come to school daily, my expectations are high. Learning something new everyday in every class is something I expect to do on a day to day basis. I hope that being in Mr. Mohr's class will help me to improve my grammer and anything else that I feel is challenging to me.

I am Christian. Given my name, you probably wouldn't guess that I am a vicious football player. I like to play football, sing in the choir, and run track. With all of the activities that I am involved in, I will be one of the most versatile people in my class.
